For the new construction of the St. Pauli stadium in Hamburg, Verzinkerei Bochum galvanized some 200 tons of complex trussed structures for the grandstand roof. In addition to complying with the provisions of the DASt directive, the company had to meet exacting requirements in terms of logistics and 'just-in-time galvanizing'.
Construction of the Neumayer II research station of the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research in the Antarctic is very demanding in terms of engineering and execution. To protect the station from the harsh weather and corrosion conditions prevalent in the Antarctic right from the start, we have developed a holistic approach that includes galvanizing 1,100 tons of steel as well as logistics services.
Michael Hammers, an artist, designer and locksmith, created the art object “Electric Fountain”, which was an award-winner at the Deutscher Verzinkertag 2009 in Cologne. Siegener Verzinkerei GmbH, Kreuztal, was commissioned to galvanize this special steel object. Hammers was pleased with our cooperation: “What mattered to me was the love for detail, proficient advice as well as the logistical performance of SVH.”
AWD-Arena is more than just a football stadium. The former "Lower Saxony Stadium” has developed into a true multifunctional event arena. To meet the high demands of the venue, which covers an area of 105,000 m², Verzinkerei Peine was commissioned to galvanize many indoor components. The order included doors, gratings, handrails, fences and other components.
The Catalan architectural firm BB + GG arquitectes won the urban space competition for the design of parks, squares and promenades at Hamburg’s HafenCity. As parts of these areas may be flooded for several hours once or twice a year under extreme flood conditions, the hot-dip galvanizing of the lighting poles developed by Pfeiffer Stahlrohrmaste GmbH was an efficient yet sustainable way to protect these components from corrosion.
As an international group with a variety of networked pots and large plants, we are able to offer maximum capacity for the automotive segment. Yet even more important is that we can also offer added value on a small scale by providing expert, innovative consulting. A good example is our computer-controlled, high-temperature galvanizing plant at our Siegen location. It fully complies with all employment and environmental regulations, including process parameterization in an exemplary manner. The plant has an annual capacity of some 12,000 tons or 20 million rear arms for cars produced in large series.
